Dear Black Boy is as beautiful as it is strong. Each ukiyo-e inspired watercolor brush stroke is infused with the passion and spirituality of classic African-American folk art. The intentionality of the hand is noticed—each element of every painted page is meticulously placed on the rich, velvety archival-quality paper, made in America.
This heavyweight, acid-free paper creates a superior opacity, allowing minimal show-through that ensures that each painting is supported. The binding of this book is smyth-sewn, ensuring durability and longevity.
The dust jacket is made of 100lb dull text paper and features a four-color process, which allows for full-color printing. The case cover is created by mounting linen to a 98pt board and includes a foil stamp and a blind deboss in multiple areas.
The drama of the imaginative imagery increases with the eyes and mouths of the boys being removed in the paintings to silence them, and blind them. This intensifies the reactive emotions from the poetic words of encouragement sprinting across the pages, as we imagine these Black Boys as our very own sons, nephews, brothers, and cousins and we root for them and guide them to freedom with our voices.

Shipping rate for USA STANDARD PRIORITY MAIL (1-3 Business days) is calculated at checkout. Free shipping within the USA on orders over $150.
INTERNATIONAL ORDERS:
We ship orders via DDU. International rates will be calculated at checkout and all rates are not inclusive of duties and taxes which varies country by country
RETURNS:
All returns must be authorized by emailing Goodday@tomonoshi.com and must be sent within 14 days of receiving your order.*
*Returns are subject to a 15% RESTOCKING FEE for refunds. All refunds will be processed within 14 days of receipt of merchandise and credited back using your original form of payment.
All merchandise must be returned unworn, unwashed, in their original condition with all tags and packaging intact. All returns are accepted at the sole discretion of TOMONOSHi!, LLC and return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.
EXCHANGES:
Exchanges are acceptable within 14 days of delivery, only if the item is flawed or defective. All packaging, tags, and other items in the order must be in its original condition. Customers are responsible for the return shipping costs. All requests for exchanges made after the 14 day period will be denied.
